What could cause pain in the upper left part of my back? ?
Hello,
I have been struggling with pain in the upper back on the left below the shoulder blade for 2 years now. The sharp stabbing pain comes on after about 15 minutes walking or standing. It gets better and goes away when I sit or lay down. I’ve been to numerous doctors (chiro, rehab, osteopath, orthopedic surgeon, acupuncture) and found no relief. The MRI shows a bulging disc at T10/T11 and some degeneration in lower discs. However, no one is exactly convinced that my pain is caused by the disc.
I’ve tried hours of physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, muscle relaxers, neurontin, heat packs, and epidurals, to no relief.
I’m not sure what other kind of doctor I should try. I am 27 and in good health.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks!
Note: the pain is approx 3-5 inches below my shoulder blade. At times it wraps around my rib to the front.
The pain does not change with any motions…and only comes on when standing or walking.
Thank you for any suggestions.
Is there anything I can do to relieve shoulder pain while sleeping on my side?
I have mild shoulder pain, which really only bothers me while sleeping (not during the day). I’ve always been a side sleeper, and I’m having a hard time adjusting to sleeping on my back. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pressure on my shoulder while I sleep on my side? A certain way to arrange pillows? Or a specialty product specifically made for this issue?
Yes, I’ve already seen a doctor, and am going through physical therapy. But in the meantime, I need some relief.
Is it possible I have Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome?
I heard a pop in my knee back in January and my doctor felt it could be an acl tear. So I was told to wear a brace and start physio therapy. Which I did and I have minor relief. My physio therapist at the time also mentioned that I have really flat feet and should get orthotic inserts for my shoe. I am currently waiting for my referral to go through to a custom made clinic wear I live in order to get orthotics. She had also said my patella was miss aligned . So the other day I read about patellofemoral syndrome some of the symptoms were: Pain on the inside of the knee, flat feet, and misalignment of the patella. I had all of these I do have a doctors appt. this coming Thursday. However I would like to know other opinions and thoughts.
I have both degenerative disk disease as well as a herniated disk. Some days are worse than others.?
I have had the steroid injections, I have been through physical therapy, and I take the medications that are given to me. I have seen two seperate neurosurgeons and they keep sending me for MRI and X-rays. Then they say it isn’t surgicially necessary at this time. But my question is how do they know when it is time if they aren’t the ones in pain? Is anyone in the same boat that I am? And who wants to get addicted to Vicodin and Soma and still not get relief.
Back pain is there any relief?
I have tried everything, Cortisone shots, Physical therapy(which made it worst). i have spinal arthritis(discs already fused)
and spinal stenosis. Has anybody with out having surgery found relief and aside from pain meds? I struggle daily with this problem or are doctors not understanding this issue? Would love to get some feed back from this forum………
